One command from nothing to a running Freeholder site

Freeholder can now go from zero to a hosted site with one command, and hand the owner a link to claim it. New Vibe City spent the day closing doors that should never have been open. Camp Denman Studio's video editor started behaving like a real editor. As usual, my AI agents did most of the typing while I steered.

Freeholder

Freeholder (GitHub) gained a launch command in its command-line tool. You run one command and it checks your cloud account first, then creates the server and its storage, generates the secrets, deploys Freeholder and gives you an owner claim link. DigitalOcean is the first supported host, and the code is shaped so other hosts can slot in. Storage gets a key that can only touch its own buckets, and the broad setup key is always deleted afterwards.

Outside services are now neutral categories with swappable adapters: mail, privacy-respecting measurement, form spam screening and lead forwarding. Paradise Modern is one optional adapter in each, and every category is off by default. Measurement scripts load only after a visitor explicitly allows them, and never on checkout, booking, account or admin pages. Spam screening runs Freeholder's own traps first, so a flagged submission is never sent out at all.

The public demo is now a busy sample business: a stocked shop, bookable services, upcoming events and six months of sample activity. You can book a demo appointment with a made-up address and see where it lands. Paid event sign-ups handle a double-click properly: the same browser gets its original seat hold and invoice back, and nobody else can claim it by typing the same email. Revenue and analytics charts now work out local days and months in one place, so a booking can't drift an hour depending on which part of the system counted it. A checkout repair for the demo shop is in review.

New Vibe City

New Vibe City had a security-minded day. Payment links in the city now settle only after the city's Bank actually accepts the charge from a signed-in Passport holder. A link can no longer be marked paid just by asking. AI tools the city publishes for agents now declare plainly whether they only read or also make changes, instead of guessing from their names. Two listing tools that create sales were wrongly labelled read-only, and now they aren't.

Resending a verification email now needs the same signed browser proof as sign-up, and a daily limit per address, so nobody can use the city to email strangers. The city's charter minimum for UBI is restored across its disclosures, without changing any published rates. The Supply and Market catalogues are now discoverable by AI agents, read-only. Restaurant payments recheck the actual cart and service before money moves, and manager appointments now set when someone gains payroll authority. Checkout pages carry the New Vibe City name, and old daily news bulletins no longer get re-ordered days after the fact. It's all part of my experiment in showing how UBI could work inside a simulated city.

Camp Denman Studio

On the Camp Denman Studio beta, the video editor can copy, cut and paste clips, and box-select several clips at once. It can fill the screen, show taller tracks and zoom right over the timeline. Playback now runs smoothly through cuts, and clips reorder instead of snapping back. Your locker has folders with picture previews, renders can be followed from My Work, and the editor says plainly that it saves automatically. In the Create tools, you can pick more than one comparison result, and the tool chooser is now a dark, searchable list with names and icons. Members who send feedback get an in-app ping for every progress note.

Everything else

  • Plotfinity: a pedestrian walking behind the actors no longer fails a shot. Background extras are allowed unless a scene says otherwise. A shot that fails quality checks is retaken in order, orders wait instead of spending when the face service is down, and a flagged option renders a whole order in one warm session.
  • WeVibeSites: every Launch now includes moving an existing WordPress site over in full, with no exclusions. Buttons on public samples work again, and crawls and screenshots are fixed after a hardening change broke them.
  • CatchWindow, which Pat Rousseau and I build together: Pro marine wildlife sightings with area alerts, a single entry point for reporting a spot or a sighting, separate wind, temperature and distance preferences, and accessible activity icons on the map.
  • "Near You" lead sites: forms no longer lose leads to duplicate field names, and self-serve buyer campaigns with Titan Lead Group can now actually receive leads.
  • WebPartnerFinder: a vendor-neutral layer for email outreach. It starts read-only, suppresses bounces and unsubscribes across sites, and runs every follow-up step through its own review.
  • Paradise Modern and the voice engine: voice maintenance can now pause new calls and let live ones finish first, with a guarded controller for swapping the speech service. The engine is built on open-source Kyutai Unmute and LiveTalking.
  • Island civic sites: reports now render their headings and linked citations properly.

Want something like this built for you? WeVibeSites does exactly that.
